Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes Americas recently honored the growth and achievements of some of the leading collision repair centers in the US and Canada. The recognitions were given during the closing awards luncheon of the 2007 Sikkens Acoat Conference held in Uncasville, Connecticut, August 8 to 10.
“The Acoat selected program is all about continuous improvement,” explains Mike Sillay, services manager for Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes Americas. “In fact, our figures indicate the following five year average increases: materials gross profit (36%), overall gross profit (4.4%) and labor gross pProfit (3.8%).”
Sillay continues, “In recognition of individual accomplishments each year, Akzo Nobel takes time to honor the unique achievements of its members. Criteria for the awards include growth, longevity in the program as well as embodiment of the program spirit and overall business acumen. It’s impressive how well these shops perform.”
Ten of the 35 shops receiving Growth Awards averaged 26.6% incremental sales growth from 2006 to 2007.
Five businesses were also recognized for longevity in the program. These shops had reached a ten year milestone of program participation. Among them is 427 Auto Collision, a Collision Solutions Network member based in Toronto.
In addition, Bates Custom & Collision of Baytown and North Channel, Texas and CARS Auto Collision Ltd of Burlington, ON, received the Sikkens Acoat selected Pride Award. This award recognizes the continued support of the Akzo Nobel Benevolence Program, positive community involvement and the effective use of the many Sikkens Acoat selected tools. CARS Auto Collision is also a Collision Solutions Network member.
