The Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA) recently announced the 2011 winners of the Marion Roberts and the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Awards.
From these awards, 43 young adults will be able to pursue the career of their choice. AIA offers four distinct scholarships-all founded to reach out to a different type of student, and to encourage careers in the automotive aftermarket industry.
"As a national association, AIA is proud to be able to offer these scholarships," said Marc Brazeau, AIA president. "AIA Canada is committed to building a prosperous future for the automotive aftermarket industry, and for Canada, as a whole."
The Marion Roberts Memorial Scholarship Awards were developed by the AIA to provide financial assistance to enable students to further their education at the post secondary school level. The scholarships honour Marion Roberts, a longtime staff member of the Association's head office in Ottawa.
The GAAS program was launched by several US trade associations to raise scholarship money to support deserving secondary students, college, and university students who want to pursue a career in the automotive aftermarket.
