There will be one more Niagara Falls family on the road this year, able to drive their kids to school, collect groceries, and make their way to family outings.
For years, CARSTAR Niagara Falls has helped the Niagara Falls-based charity Project SHARE with its numerous charity initiatives. From collecting canned goods in the reception area of their collision shop, to painting a Project SHARE van at no cost, CARSTAR Niagara Falls believes in giving back to the community in which it serves. On Friday, December 14, their level of giving back increased to the size of a car.
This past Friday, at a presentation ceremony held at the Best Western Niagara Falls, CARSTAR Niagara Falls and Thorold Auto Parts donated a 2011 Versa to a very thankful Niagara Falls mother and son.
Project SHARE is a multi-service organization committed to helping people who live on a low income in the City of Niagara Falls through programs that involve and assist with providing basic needs.
“For years we have been working alongside Project SHARE to help those less fortunate in our community,” says Mario Cicchino, co-owner of CARSTAR Niagara Falls. “To be able to donate a vehicle to a Niagara Falls family in need, especially during the Holidays, is great and I am honoured to have partnered with Project SHARE and Thorold Auto Parts for this initiative.”
Earlier this year, Project SHARE asked families to submit an essay explaining why they are deserving of the vehicle and how it would change their lives.
Jeff Moriarty, CARSTAR regional manager for Hamilton, Halton & Niagara, said yesterday, “Today’s winner was absolutely thrilled and I think her smile spoke a thousand words. I am so proud to be presenting this early Christmas gift to this deserving family alongside Frank Serravalle from Thorold Auto Parts and Mario from CARSTAR Niagara Falls.”
