Sam Mercanti, president & CEO of CARSTAR Automotive Canada Inc., has announced the appointment of Michael Macaluso as chief operating officer and Lisa Mercanti-Ladd as executive vice-president, while MJ Marshall will continue as vice-president finance. This announcement completes CARSTAR’s business transition plan that has been shared with all stakeholders over the last three years.

With these appointments, Sam Mercanti says, “There comes a point in every successful company when the founders have to step aside and empower new leadership.” Sam Mercanti will remain as the chairman of the Board while Larry Jefferies will assume the title of EVP, ex-officio and continue to support the firm's business development activities. Vice-president of human resources Dennis Concordia will continue in his current role and assume all activities related to organizational effectiveness.

Michael Macaluso will report directly to Sam Mercanti, with Lisa Mercanti-Ladd and MJ Marshall reporting to Michael Macaluso. “CARSTAR earned its reputation by focusing relentlessly on our customers and partners and on delivering unique solutions in the industry. We intend to build on this heritage to enhance CARSTAR’s leadership position,” adds Macaluso. “We are very excited about the company’s future.”
